Position Overview:

The Senior Manager, Record-to-Report leads the R2R process tower within the Zones Global Business Services Centre, with end-to-end accountability for general ledger integrity, the period-end close, balance sheet control and the production of accurate, timely and well-controlled financial information.

Operating within the GBSC target operating model, the role runs the Pakistan-based R2R execution layer and works through a confidentiality-segregated structure: PK execution feeds the Regional Controllerships, which in turn report into the Global Controllership. The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that this layered model delivers a clean, auditable handover at every level while protecting the confidentiality boundaries designed into the operating model.

The role blends day-to-day operational delivery with transformation leadership, embedding standard global processes, strengthening the control environment and continuous improvement across the tower of approximately one third of the GBSC's finance population.

What you’ll do as the Senior Manager R2R:

Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close calendar for R2R, ensuring tasks are delivered to agreed timetables, quality standards and SLAs.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts, including journal entry preparation, review and approval within delegated authority limits.

Oversee intercompany accounting, including transaction processing, matching, settlement and elimination support across legal entities.

Manage fixed asset and lease accounting, accruals, prepayments, provisions and other technical accounting routines in line with group policy.

Coordinate cash and bank accounting and reconciliations in partnership with Treasury and the O2C and P2P towers.

Own the balance sheet reconciliation framework, ensuring accounts are reconciled on time, ageing items are resolved and risk is appropriately escalated.

Support the production of management and statutory reporting, providing accurate and timely inputs to the Regional and Global Controllerships.

Maintain a robust month-end review pack, including key reconciliations, flux analysis and commentary on significant movements.

Support the corporate amalgamation and entity rationalisation agenda, including ledger migration, opening balance integrity and post-merger reconciliation.

Design, operate and continuously strengthen the R2R internal control environment, ensuring controls are documented, evidenced and operating effectively.

Act as a primary point of contact for external and internal audit on R2R matters, coordinating the preparation and timely delivery of audit deliverables.

Uphold the confidentiality segregation built into the R2R operating model, ensuring information access is appropriate to each layer of the structure.

Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements across the entities served.

Champion the GBSC transformation within R2R, standardising and globalising processes, removing duplication and embedding leading practice.

Identify and deliver automation, simplification and efficiency opportunities, including the migration of activity from regional teams into the GBSC.

Define, track and report tower performance metrics, using data to drive accountability and improvement.

Support the design and roll-out of standard operating procedures, process documentation and knowledge management for the tower.

Lead, develop and motivate the R2R team, building a high-performing, accountable and engaged culture aligned to GBSC values.

Set clear objectives, manage performance and build succession and capability across the tower.

Manage workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding for the tower in partnership with the GBSC leadership team and People function.

Foster strong, collaborative working relationships with the P2P and O2C Senior Managers to deliver a joined-up GBSC service.

What you will bring to the team:

Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.

Substantial experience leading a Record-to-Report function, ideally within a shared services or global business services environment.

Proven track record of managing a full financial close, balance sheet control and statutory and management reporting at scale.

Demonstrable experience leading sizeable teams, including team leads and managers, in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Strong working knowledge of internal controls and audit, with experience operating in a control-rich environment.

Desirable Experience:

Experience of finance transformation, GBS build-out or migration of activity into a shared services centre.

Exposure to ERP implementation or optimisation and to finance automation tooling.

Experience supporting corporate amalgamations, entity rationalisation or post-merger integration from a finance perspective.
